Dear Customer,
In compliance with Central Bank of UAE regulations, we are pleased to inform you that BLOM BANK FRANCE has successfully applied the International Bank Account Number (IBAN) for all your accounts, which will be used for all inward and outward remittances from and to the UAE and salary payments through WPS.

International Bank Account Number (IBAN) is an international standard for identifying bank accounts (excluding cards). The main purpose of IBAN is to facilitate the automatic processing of money transfers, to improve the speed and accuracy of payment transactions. We have provided your IBAN number on your statement of account since May 2011.

The Central Bank regulation is effective from 19th November 2011, whereby all banks in UAE are required to accept and process payment instructions with IBAN. Consequently, you will be required to provide IBAN for all instructions for value date on or after 19th November 2011 when making payment from or receiving payments to your account. Please ensure that the IBAN for your account is communicated to all parties from whom you are expecting a
remittance to your account.

In case the IBAN is not used, the processing of both Inward and Outward payments in your account IS LIKELY TO BE REJECTED OR MAY be delayed with additional processing charges as may be prescribed by Central Bank from time to time.

If you have standing orders for effecting payments from your account to beneficiary accounts held in banks within the UAE other than BLOM BANK FRANCE, then you will need to amend the same, by providing the IBAN equivalent for the beneficiary account.

The IBAN(s) for your BLOM BANK FRANCE account(s) can be collected from our counters. Please do not hesitate to contact us.

Subject: International Bank Account Number (IBAN)

We would like to remind you that effective November 19, 2011 the use of the IBAN in the UAE will become mandatory for all transfers received to your account regardless if originating abroad or from banks inside the UAE.

Also, we would like to draw your attention that the IBAN numbers will vary between accounts with different currencies. So your AED account will have a different IBAN number than your USD account and so on.

As such if a transfer is received in your favor in USD or in EUR and the IBAN number mentioned on the payment pertains to your AED account, we shall be compelled to convert the amount received in the foreign currency and credit your AED account.

Therefore, in order to avoid any errors and possible exchange loss, you are kindly requested to ensure that you provide the remitter/counterparty with the correct IBAN number. We shall consider ourselves released from any responsibility towards you in this regard if a transfer states a wrong IBAN.
