The Government announced that based on scientific advice the Coronavirus infection will be monitored by threat levels from 1 to 5 (1 being low transmission and no restrictions while 5 being critical and severe lockdown). The UK current threat level was downgraded from 4 to 3 and lockdown as a result was slightly eased, with calls to stay at home replaced by stay alert. The Prime Minister cautioned that should threat levels be escalated in the future then restrictions will be reinstated. The Government also published a guidance for office safety and staff protection.
Following from the Announcement and Guidance, the London Branch will return to normal door opening hours (9:30am to 3:30pm) and will be fully staffed from Monday May 18th. We have adhered to Government Guidance and took additional steps to mitigate the risk of infection by social distancing including reconfiguration of floor plans and installation of perplex desk partitions. We also sourced gloves, face masks and shields which will be handed to staff for use in the office and outside while commuting.
I will keep you updated on further COVID-19 developments and meantime I wish you always safety and best of health.
